R.I.P Johnny Bull
Any Roystoneer – Any musician who has played at Royston – will know Kay and Johnney who were faithfully always sitting in the front row of every gig.
Kay recently lost Johnney to Cancer and lays him to rest on Thursday 6th August at St Marys Church Rushden Village Rushden, SG9 0SG at 1:00pm.
The Funeral will process from 7 Hill View, Treacle Lane to arrive at the church at 1:00
There is NO restriction on guests attending OUTSIDE the church where the burial will take place. Mark Gamon and Nick Blishen will play a favorite piece and prayers will be said.
Though only 27 people are allowed INSIDE the church (due to Covid 19 restrictions) The service from within the church will be broadcast to the outside.
Kay asks that any Musicians who attend bring your instruments and give us a tune afterwards in the garden of the village community hall where there will be open air refreshments (all Covid 19 precautions will be taken – toilets are provided)
Johnney lived in Rushden village in Treacle Lane since the age of 7.
Kay has lived with him there for over 40 years.
Johnney’s mother and father are buried at the village church.
So it is most fitting that he is laid to rest here in this beautiful spot that Kay and Johnny know so well.
To find the rather isolated Rushden village take the turning from the A505 (opposite Ashwell turning) follow all signs to Rushden till you see the ‘Moon and Stars’ pub and then take Bennet’s Lane on the left.
Those attending are asked to park in the church and community hall car park (shown on this map) or the overflow car park at Mills End plant nursery (shown on this map)
It is suggested that you arrive at the church yard by 12:30
It is suggested that you bring a folding chair
It is suggested that you bring cup or glass (though recyclable ones will be available)
It is suggested that you wear a mask but this (as it is outside) IS optional
(masks and hand sanitiser will be available)
