SHINDIG .. 2019

In Summer 2019 Royston Folk club held its first mini festival

This was a summer party, open to Roystoneers and friends, in the gently sloping field adjacent to Chris and Lesley’s home ‘The Bungalow’.
With a stage, licensed bar featuring local ales, caterer, fire pit, kid’s craft area. Parking and camping facilities and marquees to get out of the sun.
Featuring 17 acts who each enjoyed for 45 mins.
It was a great success with 150 people on Sunday and 100 on Monday.
12 campers, and 3 vans. The project broke even and made from the bar a £1500 profit for the charity

Thank you every one who helped, played, visited, the 2019 SHINDIG
Chris and Lesley have pledged The Bungalow for the second SHINDIG ………… in 2021 ……… saying …

1 – We feel that by that time everybody will be REALLY wanting another one.
2 – We feel we will have the energy and be wanting to do it all again
3 – Melbourn village has a big fete on our recreation park every other year in 2020 is their next one … we suggest we will offer gazebo with some live music advertising the 2021 SHINDIG
4 – we have documented everything about the first shindig and all the volunteers are keen to do it again – so it should be a little easier …
