Royston Folk Club invited two young musicians to each Showcase in 2017 and 2018 to play two songs. Secret judges submitted their scores and videos were recorded … After the November showcases, after some 12 contestants each year, the judges gathered round a few bottles of wine, watched the videos. They studied the results and chose the winner and runner up … both received bookings for paid concerts at the club in the following year . The Winner received £500 and the Runner Up (with the sponsorship by Royston Creative Arts) received £250 …
